Clint Gene Roscoe is an American and Canadian artist and writer. He was born on August 5, 1980 in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, USA. He moved to Canada when he was 15. As an artist he draws and paints. As a writer, he writes music and wrote a book called From Yearning to Madness: The Journal of Clint Roscoe.
Clint was born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota and was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota by his parents, David Gene Roscoe and Mary Elizabeth Roscoe. When he was young, he liked drawing and making art in school. In high school, he drew and acted a couple of times. In retrospect, he thinks that he was mentally ill even when he was young.
Clint started having serious problems with his illness when his was going to the University of Winnipeg in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. His first time in the hospital was in 2008. At that point, the doctors thought it was bipolar disorder since he had symptom that were under that illness. Usually when a person is bipolar they have very positive dilusions and when a person has schizophrenia, they have very negative dilusions. Clint's dilusions were very positive, but he still had schizophrenia. He went into the hospital 3 more times and the doctors gradually found out that he had schizophrenia. He was in and out of hospitals for a two-year period (2008-2010). After his last time in the hospital, he wanted to take his mediation on a regular basis and was on disablity income from the government on Canada. Since he couldn't get a full-time job, he wanted to be an artist for the rest of his life.
Having always been interested in art, it wasn't much of a surprise to himslef that he became an artist. In 2003, he took a vector graphics class at Red River College in Winnipeg. When he was going to the University of Winnipeg, he took an art history class. He really loved art history. His favorite subject was Vincent Van Gogh. From 2007 to 2011, Clint has been in six art shows in Winnipeg. He had a solo show in 2012 in Winnipeg at Artbeat. He currently works with watercolours due to their convenience.
